When the Worst Happens, Now What? Keys to Managing and Preparing for Black Swan Events + Members-Only Roundtable

CAIR Annual Members Meeting Webinar Series 2 of 4: November 19, 2020  |  12PM ET

Speaker: Nancy Green, Executive Vice President, Global Client Promise Leader and Co Leader, Global COVID-19 Task Force, Aon

Part 1: Keys to Managing and Preparing for Black Swan Events

“Black Swan” events, such as the current novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, hit organizations hard because they are both unforeseen and have an outsize impact that far surpasses forecasts. For organizations, a Black Swan event can be shattering and the challenge of making critical decisions quickly can be overwhelming.

In the first half of this two-part session, Nancy Green of Aon Risk Solutions will share a framework for executives to guide the decision-making process, even as situations shift and risks evolve. With the impacts of a Black Swan event changing frequently, the right framework will enable decisions based on near real-time information, not yesterday’s news. Armed with such a decision-making framework, leaders can make the right choices to guide their organizations through the pandemic or future Black Swans.

Part 2: Members-only Virtual Round Table

CAIR members will participate in a virtual round table discussion sharing the short- and long-term impacts COVID-19 has had on their reciprocal operations and how these impacts will influence their future operations. These discussions will cover areas such as:

  • Human resources–virtual workplace/workplace health & safety;
  • Claims–increased areas of risk exposure & coverage disputes;
  • Underwriting;
  • Finance; and
  • Member services.
