Part 1: What Lies Ahead: The Current and Future State of the Cyber Market

Over the past year, CAIR members have been faced with a noticeable tightening in the cyber insurance market. An increasing frequency of cyber-attacks, as workers across the globe abruptly moved to working remotely, coupled with a hardening insurance market have precipitated rising premiums, reduced coverage, and a more onerous application process for cyber insurance.

In part one of CAIR’s Virtual Annual Members Meeting, Greg Markell, President and CEO of Ridge Canada Cyber Solutions, will share his views on the current cyber insurance market landscape. Greg will discuss the growth of the market and recent Canadian losses. He will review the evolution of the cyber insurance policy and its underwriting requirements, focusing on where underwriting cyber coverage might be headed in the future. Finally, Greg will consider what the future of cyber coverage might mean for reciprocals in Canada and what options we may have going forward.

10:00AM PT/1:00PM ET
Part 2: Virtual Round Table

In part two, CAIR members will participate in a virtual round table discussion with their peers. The discussion will center on what each reciprocal is doing for their members and for themselves when it comes to cyber risks. Reciprocals will be asked to share the following with their peers:

For their members:

  • Are they providing cyber insurance for their members? Why or why not?
  • Barriers to providing cyber coverage for their members.
  • Loss control offerings they have for their members.

For their own reciprocal:

  • Are they purchasing cyber insurance? Why or why not?
  • Have they had a breach or attempted breach?
  • Do they have a cyber incident response plan in place and what loss control measures they have implemented?

Please e-mail by Tuesday, September 21, 2021 to let us know who will be speaking on behalf of your reciprocal.
